Center of Excellence for Subacute Rehabilitation
Our subacute unit offers intensive rehabilitation that focuses on helping a person achieve the highest level of functioning as quickly as possible and return home - helping you reach your goals, one step at a time.
Brittany's distinct subacute unit has a separate entrance, a state-of-the-art rehab gym, a dining room, and private and semi-private rooms. Subacute patients receive a complimentary daily newspaper, in-room telephones and cable television. The average length of stay is less than 20 days.
The unit specializes in rehabilitation for joint replacement surgery, stroke and complex medical rehabilitation. The unit's medical director is a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation. A case manager coordinates every patient's care and plans for discharge.
Our Admissions Department is pleased to offer tours of the subacute unit to clients and their families. Contact us online, or call us at 860-612-6009 to arrange a visit.
Long-term Care
Personal preference and individual ability determine what a resident's typical day is like at Brittany. Residents choose their own meals, participate in their own resident care conferences, serve on the Resident Council, and participate in any number of varied activities.
Staff at Brittany work as a team to help new residents make the transition into our nursing home and we take pride in the close relationships that follow. Dedicated caregivers, social workers, rehabilitation and recreation specialists are just a few of the support resources available to residents.
Special Care Dementia Unit
This very special, self-contained unit, has dedicated staff trained in understanding that dementia is not a disease, but an illness characterized by a decline in cognitive abilities. Our goal is to create a supportive, safe environment that manages behavioral symptoms without use of physical and chemical restraints. It is a warm, predictable, homey space that is enjoyable and stimulating for residents.
Outpatient Rehabilitation
We specialize in services for those who have had a joint replacement, fracture, stroke, accident or illness. Our physical therapy, occupational and speech therapy services are available in our well-equipped and attractive gym. We offer convenient scheduling options, and therapy is administered by licensed professionals as ordered by personal physicians.
