This is a 38-bed unit for adults who are considered medically complex, who have tracheotomies and may require assistance. These patients also require skilled nursing and respiratory care on a 24-hour basis.

To promote and enhance quality of life, the Respiratory Care and Step Down units feature bedside windows and skylights throughout. Mobility and normalcy are promoted for patients and their families with ventilator, oxygen and suction hook-ups available throughout the hospital campus. When appropriate, patients are able to participate in a variety of hospital- and community-based recreational activities.
