Research Mission
To establish high quality research programs in each of our clinical areas, which will not only ensure continued exemplary care to those we serve, but will also help establish HSC as a national and international leader in healthcare.
"The goal of research is to keep our physicians educated, optimize care for our patients and to enrich our community."
Research Goals
- Establish an outcome measure database for each patient population at HSC
- Strengthen existing research in areas such as pulmonary, neurobehavioral, stroke, aquatic therapy and acquired-brain injury rehabilitation programs
- Promote research in new clinical initiative areas, such as the long term acute care satellite unit, sports and fitness programs, and therapeutic horseback riding
- Provide a research infrastructure and atmosphere that is user-friendly to all HSC staff, and conducive to exemplary clinical research
- Integrate research projects with clinical and educational initiatives
Research Endowment
To ensure that research can prosper and endure, HSC has established the Research Endowment Fund. This endowment will contribute to the mission and vision of HSC by establishing a continuous financial base for research. The ten-year goal is to raise one million dollars for this endowment fund. We are pleased to announce that since its inception in July of 2001, we have received over $250,000.
