Special Care Dental Services opened in August 1997 in response to a critical need for oral healthcare for Medicaid-eligible and uninsured children in our community. More than 4,000 children and their families have been served, and more than 70 percent of our patients have returned for follow-up care.

Special Care Dental Services has been recognized by the first Connecticut Conference on Oral Health as well as by the National Conference of the American Academy of Pediatrics. It is affiliated with the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, Pediatric Division. Services include general oral healthcare, with the exceptions of orthodontics and endodontics.

Conveniently located on the corner of Corbin Avenue and Osgood Street in New Britain, the center is open 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday/Tuesday, and 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Wednesday/Thursday.
